Harvey was born in 1940. He was the son of Barney Beams and Bessie Burkes. He passed away in 2015.

EUTAW | Harvey Beams, age 75, of Eutaw, died September 27, 2015, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw, Ala. With Bro. Roy Sanford officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Beams; wife, Faye Lashley Beams; brothers, Thomas Beams, and James Burkes. Survivors include his son, Darren Beams (Shannon) of Eutaw, Ala.; sister, Ollie Mae Jacobs of Reform, Ala.; and grandchildren, Jacob and Jared Beams of Eutaw, Ala. Harvey was born in Pickens County Ala. to the late Barney and Bessie Beams. He was proud to have served 28 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, but he was most proud of his two grandsons, Jacob and Jared who affectionately knew him as "Paw-Paw." He was a retired employee of the Alabama Department of Transportation (Greensboro Division). Pallbearers will be the military. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Beams, Jared Beams, Bennie Abrams, Shawn Peeks, Wilford "Buck" George, Harold Clayton, Past Members of the 156th Military Police Battalion (Greensboro), the 168th Engineer Company (Eutaw) and the 31st Support Battalion (Holt).
