Folsom Bean was born March 2, 1789, reportedly at Buscawen, New Hampshire, the eldest son of John Bean and Polly (Garvin) Bean. [1] The family is found on the United States Census of 1790 and 1800, living in Canaan, Grafton county, New Hampshire. [2] [3]
On March 17, 1814, in Brookfiled, Vermont, Folsom Bean, son of John and Polly (Garvin) Bean married Nancy Hamblin, youngest daughter and child of Olvier Hamblin and Rachel (Cleveland) Hamblin. He was born in Buscawen, N.H. March 2, 1789 and died in Danbury, N.H. January 1, 1851. Nancy married secondly, in East Brookfield, Vermont, her cousin, Deacon Alvan Hovey, son of Rev. Samuel and Abigail (Cleveland) Hovey. [4]
All of the children of Folsom and Nancy were born in Danbury, New Hampshire:
Folsom and Nancy are buried in the cemetery of the Baptist church in Danbury, Merrimack county, New Hampshire. [5]
Clan MacBean of North America, Volume I, Sixth Edition, Revised 1992, by Joseph S. Bean states that Folsom is the son of Folsom Bean, born 1747, but there is enough documentation to the contrary. I am assuming that Joseph S. Bean, wonderful genealogist that he was, skipped a generation and that Folsom Bean, born 1747 is the grandfather of this Folsom Bean, unless I find evidence to dispute that notion, as well. jan gorman, May 17, 2017
