Catherine was born about 1750[1]. She married Valentine Shirley about 1770 in VA[2]. Valentine probably was a farmer. They also owned a slave, see census below. Valentine and Catherine had purchased land in Orangeville Twp., Orange Cty., IN[3]. Her husband, Valentine passed away in Sept., 1811 and his will was proved same month. Catherine was mentioned in his will along with children. It was proved on 23 Sept., 1811[4]. She passed away about 1831[5] or 1834[6]. She was buried in Springer Cemetery, French Lick Twp, Orange Cty., IN. She had 8 children.
