Biography

She was born on the 1st of April, 1830, with her birth being registered in the Eskdalemuir parish^[1]. Her parents were Andrew Beattie and Jean Borthwick.

She was living with her parents and siblings at Raeburnfoot, Eskdalemuir in 1841^[2].

She wasn't living with her parents in the 1851 census but had not yet married either. She was working as a servant at Borthwickshiels in the Roberton parish^[3].

She married Robert Brydon in late 1851 or early 1852^[4]; the marriage record notes her residence as Borthwickshiels.

She had at least one son who survived infancy, William Brydon.

She was recorded at Whithillshiels in the 1861^[5], 1871^[6], 1881^[7], 1891^[8] and 1901^[9] censuses.

She died in 1906 at Redfordgreen, Kirkhope^[10]. Her son William Brydon was the informant.
