Emma was born on September 17, 1928, in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Wilford Beaver and Bettie Rhodes. She died on January 11, 2010, in McCaysville, Georgia, at the age of 81, and was buried in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Obituary

Mrs. Emma Jean Grindstaff, age 81, of McCaysville, GA, died Monday, January 11, at Fannin Regional Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Copper Basin, daughter of the late Wilfred L. and Betty Rhodes Beaver, and was the wife of the late Edward Grindstaff. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Ricky Lee Grindstaff. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Ginger (Grindstaff) Rogers of Epworth, GA., Kara Grindstaff and Susan Grindstaff both of McCaysville, GA, and Linda O'Neill of Holden, MA; two sons, Bill Grindstaff of Blue Ridge, GA, and Ike Grindstaff of McCaysville, GA;, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Barbara Davidson officiating. Interment followed Stanley Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Dunn, Johnny Thomas, Ryan Harper, Michael Grindstaff, Chris Thurman, and Neal Young. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.[3]
