HUEYTOWN -- Funeral for Roy Melvin Beavers Sr., 82, of Hueytown was Wednesday at Brown-Service Funeral Home West with the Rev. John Killan officiating.

Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Beavers died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Hueytown. He was of the Baptist faith. He was the father of the late James Beavers.

He is survived by two sons, Roy Melvin Beavers Jr. of Decatur and David Beavers of Calera; two daughters, Linda Hudson of Arkansas and Virginia Campbell of Decatur; two stepsons, Larry Vallely of Alexander City and Pat Johnson of Birmingham; one stepdaughter, Diane Greene of Birmingham; four sisters, Sadie Tanner of Wylam, June Roberts of Hueytown, Cora Lee LeStrange of Melborne, Fla., and Sylvia Mosley of Sylvan Springs; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Local survivors include one son, Roy Melvin Beavers Jr. of Huntsville.
