Biography

Samuel Franklin Bedgood, Jr. was born about 1831 in Georgia, the son of Samuel Franklin Bedgood, Sr. and Mary Ann Rogers Bedgood^[1]. In 1850 he lived with his parents and siblings in Washington County, Georgia^[2].

He married Sophronia Elizabeth Nix 31 August 1856 in Butler Alabama^[3]. In 1860 they lived in Butler, Alabama with their daughters MJ and SE^[4].

He served in the Civil War in the 17th Regiment, Alabama Infantry^[5].

He died about 1863 and was buried in the Bedgood Cemetery, Butler County, Alabama^[1].

He is mentioned on the death record of his daughter Missouri Jane Bedgood Ellin in 1933^[6].
