Biography
Martha (Bedingfield) Yarbrough is a part of US Black heritage.
Martha was born around 1860 in Alabama. She was the daughter of Lucy Bending Bedingfield.[1]
Martha married Joseph Yarbrough in 1873 in Limestone County, Alabama.[2] In 1880 they were living in Limestone County with 4 children.[3]
In 1900 Martha and Joe were living with 8 of their 10 living children in Georgia, Limestone County, Alabama.[4]
In 1920 Martha was living as a widow with one daughter in Georgia, Alabama.[5]
She passed away in 1942 in Alabama. She was buried in Little Elk Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Athens, Alabama.[6]
Research Notes
Her gravestone has 1860 as year of birth but census records put her birth closer to 1855, which would align better with marriage year of 1873.
