Father Sir Robert Belknap, Chief Justice of the Common Pleas[1]d. bt 1399 - 1401

Mother Juliana Darset[2] d. bt 1414 - 1415

Hamon Belknap, Esq.[3][4] was born circa 1390 at of Seintlynge in St. Mary Cray & Ringwold in Walmer, Kent, England; Age 24 in 1414.2,4,7,6 He married Joan Boteler, daughter of Sir Thomas Boteler, 4th Baron Sudeley and Alice Beauchamp, before 1412; They had 4 sons (John; William, Esq; Henry, Esq; & Philip, Esq.) and 2 daughters (Elizabeth, wife of Sir William Ferrers; and Griselde, wife of John Hende, Esq.).[5]

Hamon Belknap, Esq. died on 4 January 1429[7] at of Knelle in Beckley, Sussex, England.[12]

His heir was his son John.[7] The lands and tenements held in gavelkind in Kent were to be divided equally between his sons John, William, and Henry.[7]

It is disputable that John actually "died" but in fact left England for Portugal after changing his name to Joao Resende and married the daughter of Frederick Sudley, Maria Sodre.

Sir Hamon born c1380 in the Manor of Sentling, St Mary Cray, Kent, England died Knelle Manor, Beckley, Sussex, England and buried in All Saints Church, Beckley, Sussex, England.

Hamon/Joan had six children, in chronological order they were:-

John born 1413 in England died c1436 heir to Sir Hamon. William born c1415 died 1484. Elizabeth born c1418 died 28.5.1471. Griselda born c1421 in England married John Hende. Henry born c1422 died 3.7.1488. Philip born c1423 died c1457.
