Biography

Hardy Holmes Bell was born in 1786, in Sampson, North Carolina, his father, Samuel Arthur Bell, was 37 and his mother, Elizabeth B. Gilbert, was 36. He married Sarah Parker about 1819, in Robeson, North Carolina, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in the Saddletree Township, Robeson, North Carolina, for about 40 years. In 1850, his occupation is listed as merchant. He died on 28 April 1866, in Lumberton, Robeson, North Carolina, at the age of 80, and was buried in Ten Mile Center Baptist Church Cemetery, Lumberton, Robeson, North Carolina.
