When John McCollester Belzer was born in 1802 in Jessamine, Kentucky, his father, John, was 42 and his mother, Mary, was 25. He married Hannah Stokesberry on September 7, 1824, in Highland City, Ohio. They had four children during their marriage. He died on September 10, 1854, at the age of 52, and was buried in Cicero, Indiana.
