Elizabeth, aged 6 years, along with her parents, David Benge, age 30, agricultural labourer and wife Sarah (nee Roberts) age 28 years and sister Emma, aged 4 and brother James aged 2 years sailed 1 February 1841 from Gravesend, Kent, England aboard the vessel "Katherine Stewart Forbes" and arrived in Wellington, New Zealand 24 June 1841. Married William Slater Gardner Passed away in 1896 at the age of 60 years old and buried Pauatahanui Burial Grounds, Cemetery Row Q Plot 6, Porirua.
