Biography

Elizabeth was born before 1702. She is the daughter of William Bennett and Elizabeth Coles. ^[1]

Elizabeth died in Twyford, Compton Abbas leaving a will in which she mentions "my kinsman William Bennett son of my nephew John Burgess Bennett." She also mentions her sister Mary, with whom she shares income from property "situate at Twyford aforesaid within the Manor of Melbury Abbas." ^[2]

Also mentioned are nephew James Bennett, his sister Ann Bennett, kinsman Abraham Bennett, relations Bennett Parham and William Parham and their aunt Ann Bennett, kinsman William Bennett, cousin Frances the daughter of William Parham, relation Ann Bennett Parham, and Burgis Bennett son of the said John Burgis Bennett" among others.

A 1793 codicil notes that Mary Bennett, her sister, is now deceased and appoints "my great nephew William Bennett (in my said will by mistake in two several places called Burgis Bennett)" sole executor.
