Biography

The son of Robert Bennett and Wealthy Jenne, James was born in 1834. ^[1] James and Mary L. Ashley filed an intention to marry in New Bedford on 22 Dec. 1855. ^[2] (Note, the intention date indexed as 6 Sep 1860 is incorrect. The actual document reads 22 Dec. 1855). They married a day later on 23 Dec. ^[3] He died in 1909 ^[4]and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven, Bristol, Massachusetts. ^[5] James was living in Fairhaven in 1880 and worked as a Baggage Master. ^[6]
