Biography

Jesse Pearson Benton was born on August 10, 1918 in Fordyce, Dallas County, Arkansas to William Robert Benton Sr. and Louise “Lula” (Britton) Benton. In 1920 and 1930, he lived on West 2nd Street in Fordyce.

On November 11, 1937, Jesse married Norma Jean Rudolph in Dallas County, Arkansas. In 1940, he lived on Moro Street in Fordyce and worked as a lineman. He had completed two years of college.

Jesse later moved to Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas where he managed a bowling alley owned by his brother James. He passed away on June 24, 1978 in Pine Bluff and was buried at Oakland Cemetery in Fordyce.
