Biography

Oldest child of Abraham Berk and his wife Anna, Rose was born after her father had departed for Canada to get ready to resettle the family there.

She and her mother joined Abraham in Montreal, Canada, on 17 May 1905, before her second birthday.

At the age of 21, on 20 Dec 1925, Rose married Abraham J. Marcovitz (later Marks) in Montreal. They had two sons together, Jack and Norman. Rose and Abraham moved to Detroit in the late 1930s and then to Los Angeles by 1940, where Abraham worked as a cutter in the garment trade.

Abraham died in 1964 at the age of 74 and was buried in Eden Memorial Park Cemetery, Los Angeles. When Rose died in 1994, she was buried there as well.
