Biography

Unsure if Catharine's maiden name was Berning (per 1880 census, which shows her as the daughter of Henry Berning, and agrees with her son Joseph's death cert) -- or Schulte (which is shown on her son Bernard's death cert and her son Joseph's birth rec, as well as her marriage record).

Catherine and Joseph were married November 6, 1867 by Augustin Reichert, priest at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glandorf, Ohio.^[1][2]

Catharine died of old age when she was 93. She is buried in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Ottawa, Ohio. Burial was by Rev. J W. Reitz, C.P.P.S.^[4]
