Obituary

Final rites for William Bettcher, 76, who died at his home, 5129 Base street, New Baltimore, Sunday morning, will be conducted from the Will Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Volkmar officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery, New Haven. The deceased was born in Adair, Mich., St. Clair County, on February 8, 1876, a son of the late William and Mary Schutte Bettcher. He moved with his parents to Mount Clemens as a youth and later married Carrie Kirkum in 1905. After their marriage, the couple resided on a farm in Ray township. Seventeen years ago they moved to New Baltimore. Mrs. Bettcher preceded her husband in death in June, 1943. Surviving are four children, Roy, of David; Mrs. Hilda Rivard and Lloyd of New Baltimore; and Mrs. Doris Wilson, of Mount Clemens. Surviving also are five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild and the following brothers and sisters: John Bettcher, Mount Clemens; Mrs. Lena Steinbrink, of Grayling; Mrs. William Wolf, Mrs. Walter Williams and Albert Deiner, all of Mount Clemens.
