Biography

Florence (Bevan) Stanley was born in Bromley, Kent, England.

Florence May Bevan was born on the 10th February 1911, in Bromley, Kent, England, the youngest child (of four) of Thomas Bevan and his wife Mary Webster.^[1]

After their Banns had been published the required number of times, she married Reginald Coster Stanley, a bricklayer, on the 1st August 1931, in New Malden and Coombe, Christ Church, Surrey, according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England. Cyril R Brown, Curate, officiated, and their witnesses were her brother, Charles James Henry Bevan, and Reginald's younger brother, Sidney Victor Stanley.^[2]

Florence May Stanley née Bevan passed away on the 22nd March 1981, in Southwark, London, England, with the event being registered in the 1st Quarter at Lewisham,^[3] and was cremated on the 26th at Southwark.

Florence was born either on the 10th February 1911 (according to the 1939 register), or the 10th March 1911 (according to her death registration). The choice was made to use the date per the 1939 register, as that likely came from her, while the date as given for her death registration likely came from another source.
