"On motion of W. C. Bice for himself of Thos H & Samuel H Bice by their Guardian Lemuel Conner. Heirs of Samuel Bice dec'd who filed their petition herein. Ordered that Wm Welch, William Gregg and Jessee Robinson or any two of them being first sworn be and they are hereby appointed Champions to divide on the 23d ro the 25 inst the slaves mentioned in said petition towit a woman Jane, two boys Charles & George of which the said Samuel Bice died seized and possessed between the here mentioned in said petition towit Wm C Bice, Tho's H Bice & Samuel H. Bice & that they make report thereof to Court and further proceedings herein are Continued for said report."
"We the undersigned being duly appointed by the Shelby County Court Commissioners to divide and allot the slaves of which Samuel Bice died possessed of, being first duly sworn by H. B Oliver Esq'r have proceeded on the 23d day of October 1858 to divide and allot said slaves agreeable to said order as follows towit. William Bice we allot a Negro boy Charles 15 years old at One Thousand dollars. To Harrison Bice we allot Jane about thirty six years old at Six hundred and fifty dollars. To Thomas Bice we allot George about Seven years old at Five Hundred and fifty dollars. Therefore William has to pay to Thomas one hundred and eighty three dollars 33/100 cts and to Samuel H Bice eighty three dollars 33/100 cents. This being done will make each Heir equal. The whole valuation of said Negroes being Two Thousand Two Hundred Dollars and each Heirs Interes in the above named being Seven Hundred and thirty three dollars and 33/100 cts all of which we respectfully submit to the County Court. Given under our hands this the 23d day of October 1858, Wm Welch, Wm Gregg Sr., Jesse Robinson."

This is all the property belonging to said ward known to me, this 20th day of January 1860. T. H. Welch."
