Owen was born in 1828 in Vermont.[1] He was the son of Levi Bickford and Sally Kennaston.[2]
Owen served in the Civil War as a Private in Company C, 1st Illinois Light Artillery Regiment from 15 Aug 1862 until release in 12 Jun 1865.[3][4][5]
Owen married Esther (Hoyt) Bickford in 1866 in Illinois.[6]
1870: Owen is living in Will County, Illinois with wife Esther, daughter Edith and mother-in-law Julia Hoyt.[7]
1880: Owen is living in Nemaha County, Kansas with wife Esther and daughter Edith.[8]
Owen died in 1903 in Vermont.[9][1]
