Stephen Bidlack, son of James, came to Spencer, from Athens in 1800, and made the first settlement of the farm now owned by Ransom Bidlack. He married Lois, daughter of Capt. Samuel Ransom, and reared eight children, only one of whom, Ransom, is living.
History of Albany, Monroe, Sheshequin, and Overton Townships by Heverly, page 152:
"Stephen married Lois, daughter of Captain Samuel Ransom, and removed to Spencer, New York."

3. Sybil, born, January 7, 1798 at Athens, Pa.; died there, March 17, 1798.
4. Celestia: born, June 3, 1799, at Athens, Pa.; married April 30, 1816, to Samuel McKinney at Spencer, NY; died, May 25, 1833, at Litchfield, Pa. Samuel, born, Jan. 7, 1791, at Cecil Co., Md.; died Jan. 17, 1853 at Litchfield, Pa.
5. Marinda: born, April 21, 1803, at Spencer, NY: married, Nov. 21, 1824, to John Tilmon Morse at Spencer, NY: died, April 23, 1855, at Hobart, Ind. John, born, Dec. 19, 1797, at Waterbury, VT; died, February 12, 1873, at Hobart, Ind. He married (2d), Salome. She is said to be living yet at Minneapolis, Kansas.
6. Harriet: born, October 19, 1807, at Spencer, NY: married, Nov. 5, 1826, to Peter Maryhugh North at Spencer, NY: died, May 4, 1873, at Mundy, Mich. Peter, born, March 25, 1803, at Olive, NY; resides, Hazelton, Mich.
7. Emily: born, Feb. 3, 1813, at Spencer, NY: married, Feb. 13, 1836, to Moses Bartron at Spencer, NY. Mosses, born, May 1, 1813, near Meshoppen, Pa. They reside at Smithsborough, NY.
8. Ransom: born, April 10, 1817, at Spence, NY; married (1st), March 6, 1839, to Lovena Delilah Van Vorhis at Spencer, NY; married (2), Jan. 16, 1842, to her sister, Adelia Van Vorhis, at Spencer, NY. Lovena, born, Oct. 28, 1819, at Spencer, NY; died there, Oct. 10, 1839. Adelia, born, March 26, 1821, at Spencer, NY. They reside at Spencer, NY.
