Daughter of Bruce and Eva Snyder Billig.
The following was posted in the 29 Apr 1985 issue of the Press Enterprise:
“Mae E. Whitmire
“Mae E. Whitmire, 48, of 1426 Market St., Berwick, died early Saturday in the Geisinger Medical Center where she was hospitalized several times since Feb. 13.
“She was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Berwick, a daughter of the late Bruce and Eva Snyder Billig. She worked at DataCom and also was an inspector for McGregor Sportswear. Mrs. Whitire attended the Pine Street Baptist Church in Berwick.
“Surviving are her husband, William W. Whitmire Sr., with whom she observed a 24th wedding anniversary April 22; five children, Mrs. James (Christine) Holloway, Berwick; Mrs. Robert (Brenda) Edwards, Berwick R.D.1; William W. Whitmire Jr., Berwick; twins, Lori and Lisa Whitmire, both at home; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Dawn) Hess, Kirkwood, N.Y.; Frances Evertt, Rochester, N.Y.; Mrs. Alvin (Patricia) Barnes, Dover, Del.; Mrs. Lee (Carolyn) Kile, Berwick; and two brothers, Howard and Kimmer Billig, both of Berwick.
“Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home, Berwick, with the Rev. Wayne Sommers, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.”
