1776 Project
Private Abel Billings served with Middlesex County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Abel Billings is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A010129.

Abel Billings; b. Feb 16, 1757 at Lincoln, MIddlesex, Massachusetts[1]; Marriage banns for him and Elizabeth Farrar were published May 20, 1780 at Lincoln, Middlesex, Massachusetts; d. Dec 5, 1832 at Brooksville, Hancock, Maine, at age 75; d. Oct 27, 1833 at age 76; he was buried at Settlers Rest Cemetery, Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine. [2] [3] A soldier in the Revolutionary War, he was present at the battle of Lexington.[4] He also helped organize a company of "minute men" in Sedgwick during the War of 1812. He appeared on the census of 1830 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine.

Hodgdon, at Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts; d. Feb 10, 1860 at age 79; he was buried at Hodgdon Cemetery, Tremont, Hancock, Maine.
  • ii. Samuel Billings; b. Jul 10, 1784 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; b. Jul 30, 1784 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; m. Patience Billings, daughter of Benjamin Billings and Abigail Closson, circa 1810 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; d. Sep 30, 1840 at Hancock, Maine, at age 56; he was buried at Settlers Rest Cemetery, Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine.
  • iii. Abel Billings; b. Jul 22, 1786.
