Biography

Jack Arthur Billingsley was born March 2, 1920, in Fort Worth to the late Nancy Pauline Long and Arthur Percival Wylie Billingsley. A graduate of Paschal High School, he earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from Texas Christian University.

After serving in the United States Navy during World War II, he taught, coached and served as a principal, athletic director and assistant superintendent for the Fort Worth public schools. He retired from FWISD in 1980 after 39 years. He then served as PE teacher at St. Andrew's Catholic School for 10 years.

Jack was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and past president of the Downtown Kiwanis Club. Survivors: His wife of 59 years, Mary Helen Richardson Billingsley; children, Nancy Billingsley Hogan [1] and her husband, Skitch, Mike Billingsley [2] and his wife, Liz, and Joe Billingsley [3]; grandchildren, Ellen Hogan Deskins and her husband, Eric, Nancy Hogan, Tim Hogan, JoAnna Billingsley Shores and her husband, Bret, Katy Billingsley and Mary Billingsley.
