Marriage/Death: From the "Howard Courant" September 14, 1882 Mrs. Caroline Boutell - Submitted by L. Morgan Died-- At the residence of her son, C.M. Boutell, in Paw Paw township, on Thursday, September 7, 1882, Mrs. Caroline Boutell, aged 78 years, 5 months and 4 days. Mrs. Boutell came to Kansas in 1878 and has since made her home with her sons, J.A. Boutell, of the city, and C.M. Boutell of Paw Paw township. Her husband, Mr. Samuel Boutell, died in Michigan in 1875, at age of 75 years, they having lived together as husband and wife 51 years. Mrs. Boutell leaves five sons, three of whom live in Michigan and two in Kansas. The funeral took place at the residence of Mr. Boutell, in Paw Paw township, and was conducted by Pastor Issac Hill of the M.E. Church of Howard, and the remains were interred in Grace Lawn cemetery, at Howard, on Friday, September 8th, 1882.
