Biography

William Bincks was born about 1557, Rotherby, Leicestershire, England. He was married to Mary Baxter (marriage bond dated 23 November 1597). The name of William's second wife was mentioned in his will as "Joane my now wife". But he spells her name Johane later in the will: "I make and ordaine unto this my last will and testament Johane my nowe wife & George Bincks full Executors...".

William became the vicar of Scalford, Leicestershire. He died there between 24 May 1616 (date of will) and 28 May 1616 (when his will was proved), and he was buried 29 May 1616.

His will mentions his five children by his first wife Mary Baxter, as follows: "The rest of my goods and chattells my debts beinge paid I geve and bequeathe unto my v children Nathannel Bincks Wm Bincks James Bincks Anna Bincks and Marie Bincks equallie to be devided amongst them as they accomplishe the severall ages of xxi yeres or Day of marriage of my before said Daughters, except that Nathaniel Bincks shall have x1 more than the rest...".
