Biography

This profile is part of the St Helens, Lancashire One Place Study.

William Birchall was born in about 1816, probably in Windle, Lancashire. He was the son of William Birchall and Ann (Middlehurst) Birchall.

By June 6th 1841, William was living in Church Street, Westfield, Eccleston with his mother (a labourer), his sister Betsey (a servant), his three-year-old niece Martha Almond, and two young men named William and Robert Butler. William was a journeyman cooper. [1]

William died on 26 March 1848, aged 32, and was buried in Windleshaw Chantry (Catholic). [2] [3] [4]
