Biography

Birth

Mary was baptised in North Leigh, Oxfordshire on 24th October 1802.^[1] She was the daughter of William and Sarah.

Marriage

Stephen Harris and Mary Bishop were married after banns and with consent of their parents at St Mary's, North Leigh on 26th January 1823. Stephen was from Eynsham whilst Mary was from North Leigh. They both signed their names on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were Edith Bishop and Hannah Bishop.^[2]

Death

Mary died sometime after her last child was born in 1835 and before 1844 when her husband remarried. It is likely she was dead before the 1841 census as she was not shown with Stephen and their family, but there is no burial for her in Hanborough and no obvious GRO record.

Notes

The baptism of son David records that his mother Mary was the daughter of William and Sarah Bishop.^[3]
