Research Notes

Either birthdate is incorrect, or marriage date is incorrect. Right now, by the dates, he got married at the age of 13. His wife's estimated birthdate is based off the marriage date (only her birthdate is 28 years before the marriage date), which means that's probably incorrect, too.

Neither Powell nor Bishop are particularly unique names. It's entirely possible that several couples with these names married each other at different times in American history. I can't find much with the incorrect data on these profiles; but I was able to locate a census record for this person, in the town he's said to die in, from a year before his death. That census claims he was between 70 and 80 at the time--meaning, he would have been born between 1750 and 1760.
