Jonathan Bixby, son of Daniel and Hannah (Chandler) Bixby , was born at Andover, Massachusetts about 1685. [1]
He married Rachel Hobart at Watertown, Massachusetts on April 16, 1709. [2][3]
Jonathan died at Newton, Massachusetts on November 2, 1714. [3]
Administration on his estate of Jonathan Bixby, blacksmith of Newton, was granted to his widow Rachel on December 6, 1714. His inventory was valued at L73 10s 1d and included only personal items. He had a 14 year lease of 12 acres of land from Henry Seager. [4][1]
In his father Daniel Bixby's will, written on April 12, 1715 among his bequests he left a bequest of 20s to daughter-in-law Rachel, should she have a living child by my son. [5]
Rachel Bixby, as widow received town support for which Thomas Marshall was reimbursed 10s on February 27, 1718, supported from Poor Stock 1719. [6] And on April 19, 1719, widow Bigsbye was paid 5s. [1]
