Pvt. Christopher Columbus Blackwell enlisted in the Union Army on 1 June 1861. He was mustered into Company H, 4th Regiment, West Virginia Infantry.[1]
He died in Louisiana on 19 April 1863 and was initially buried in the vicinity of Young's Point, Louisiana. His body was transferred to Section D, 2018 of the Vicksburg National Cemetery.
