MARENTETTE (née Blais): Angéline Roseanna -

A resident of Pain Court, Ontario, Angéline passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on December 31, 2017 at the age of 87.

Born in River Rouge, Michigan on August 29, 1930, Angéline was the daughter of the late Philippe and Anna Blais. Beloved wife of 61 years to Gérard Francis Marentette.

Loving mother of Jacinthe Aardema of Chilliwack, BC and François Marentette of Pain Court, ON.

Dear sister of the late Jeannette Howard (the late Hank), the late Raymond Blais (Blair), Philippe Blais (the late Rosita), Lucille Monforton (the late Lloyd), Thomas Blais (Gabrielle), the late Romain Blais and Louis Blais.

Sister-in-law to Maxine Blair, Evéline and the late Alphonse Marentette and the late Maria and Roméo Marentette. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Angéline was a member of the Club de l’Amitié and Dame de Ste-Anne in Pain Court as well as a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society. She participated in many special events concerning the local elementary school and the parish. Her lifelong and dedicated teaching career had a profound effect on many teachers, students and the community as a whole.

She was at the helm of the school and church choirs for many years. Her passions included music, the arts, reading, cooking, travelling and most importantly her family.

She touched so many people with her kind, loving, compassionate, empathetic, sympathetic and generous heart, her positive outlook, her joy of life and her wonderful sense of humour.

A special thank you goes out to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Progressive Care Unit of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance who provided excellent health care.

The family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm. Vigil prayers will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday evening at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at L’Immaculée Conception Church, 24152 Winter Line Rd, Pain Court on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 am with Fr. Dennis Howard and Fr. Michel Michon, concelebrants. Interment at Immaculée Conception Cemetery following the Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Angéline to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
