Captain George Augustus Blakeney was born on 7 June 1716, the son of Colonel Robert Blakeney and Sarah Ormsby.
He married Mary Dixon, daughter of John Dixon, on 29 January 1744/45, and had one son.
He gained the rank of Captain on 17 February 1745 in the in General Blakeney's Regiment (the 27th.) He fought in the Battle of Cartagena (1758). He fought in the Battle of Culloden.
He lived at Distington, Cumberland, England.
He died on 25 February 1799 at age 82.
