Age 32 — Marriage 22 November 1840 • Clarence Plains , Tasmania, Australia: Thomas Blake, "Ticket of Leave Man" and Sarah Ratcliffe, "Free woman" 22 Nov 1840 "Married in the School at Clarence Plains", both marked the register.[2] Sarah Ratcliffe nee Phillips was a widow.

Sarah and Thomas separated about 1844. Sarah was living with Richard English and she was known as Mrs English. Her daughter Rosanna's father could be Richard English. [Macreadie et al.]

Age 52 — Death 30 March 1861 • Muddy Plains, Clarence, Tasmania: Blake, Thomas Age: 50 Date of death: 30 Mar 1861, Cause of death Apoplexy . Inquest Muddy Plains, R Strachan coroner, Registered District of Clarence Plains.[3]

Several trees in Ancestry.com have a middle name 'Michael', possibly due to confusion with his son Thomas Michael Blake.
