U.S. NATURALIZATION:

Louis Blanchard of Marlboro, Massachusetts was made a naturalized citizen of the United States March 15, 1869 in US Circuit Court, Boston, Massachusetts. In that record it gives his date of birth as February 10, 1854.[1]

CENSUS':

The 1850 US Census of Fairfield, Franklin, Vermont finds this person given as "Lewis" (sic) at the age of 25yrs old and a laborer, born in Canada. He is living there in Fairfield with his 51yr old father "Peter" Blanchard, his 48yr old mother, Mary Ann and six younger siblings; 23yr old Joseph, 19yr old Rosetta, 16yr old Cordelia, 14yr old Melipa (sic), 12yr old Olive and 9yr old Peter.[2]

The 1855 Massachusetts state census of Southborough, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Lewis Blanchard at the age of 34yrs old and given as a shoe maker born in Canada. He is living there in Southborough with his 20yr old wife, who's first name is not given and their 1yr old son given as "Phillows" Blanchard.[3]

The 1860 US Census of Northborough, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Lewis Blanchard at the age of 36yrs old, given erroneously as born in Connecticut, employed as a 'cordwainer:" with the value of his personal estate valued at $100, He is living there in Northborough, with his 25yr old wife, Eliza and four of their children given as 6yr old Felix, 4yr old Exzilda (sic), 3yr old Moses and 1yr old Eliza.[4]

The 1865 Massachusetts State Census of Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts finds this Lewis Blanchard at the age of 42yrs old and given as a shoemaker born in Canada and unable to read and write. He is living there in Marlborough with his 32yr old wife Eliza A. and four children; 10yr old Felix, 9yr old Exilda (female), 6yr old Lizzia and 2yr old Vaginia (sic).[5]

The 1870 US Census of Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts finds this person, given as "Louis" Blanchard, but transcribed as "Lonis" Blachard at the age of 45yrs old and given as employed in a shoe shop and born in Canada. he is living there in Marlborough with his 43yr old wife, Eliza and their four children given as follows: 16yr old Feliz, 14yr old Norah, 11yr old Eliza and 7yr old Jenny.[6]

The 1880 US Census of Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts finds this Louis Blanchard at the age of 58yrs old and given as working in a shoe shop and born in Canada. He is living there in Canada with his 48yr old wife, Lizzie, his 17yr old daughter, Jennie, his 10yr old daughter, Clara. his 21yr old daughter given as Lizzie "Duplessier", his 23yr old daughter given as Ella "Clisbee" and Ella's 23yr old husband, Calvin Clisbee.[7]

DEATH:

A Death Certificate for this Louis Blanchard who died January 28, 1905 at 99 Howe St. (his residence), Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Of this Louis, this record also tells us he was 84yrs old at the time; was widowed and retired; that he was born in Canada and that his parents were Pierre Blanchard and Mary A. Parriso. The informant was Mrs. Olive Paul, (likely his sister). It also says he is buried in St. Mary's cemetery, Marlborough, Massachusetts.[8]
