Genovefa "Genevieve" (Blau) Strobel, 91, passed away peacefully on 7 May 1909 at Saint Kilian, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She was born on 3 January 1818 at Rangendingen, Zollernalbkreis, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and married Philip Strobel there in 1842.
In about 1848, the couple and their first three children emigrated to America. They first settled in Morges, Carroll County, Ohio, then to Ashford, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin and finally to Saint Kilian, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Mrs. Strobel was survived by: her children, Godeleva (Strobel) Berg, b. 1841; Kilian Strobel, b. 1843; Simon Strobel, b. 1849; John Strobel, b. 1850; Joseph Strobel, b. 1851; Anna Maria (Strobel) Klockenbusch, b. 1855; Katharina (Strobel) Beisbier, b. 1856; Philip Strobel, b. 1858; Andrew Strobel, b. 1860; 90 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Philip, 1815-1895; and children, Regina Strobel, 1846-1866; Geneva (Strobel) Remmel, 1853-1904; and infant, Anthony Strobel, 1863-1863.
Genovefa is buried at the Saint Kilian Cemetery, Saint Kilian, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; plot: Row 1. The Findagrave memorial ID is 11117048.
