Biography

Birth & Origin

Frances Blennerhassett was born in Norwich, Norfolk, England, after 1578 (from parents marriage in 1577), and Baptized on May 3, 1578.

Parents

Her Father was Daniel Blennerhassett (abt.1555-abt.1598), and her Mother was Ellen (Hobart) Blennerhassett (abt.1556-bef.1650), who was the Sister to Baron Sir Henry Hobart.

Marriage

Frances married William Mann after 1598. In the will of William Blennerhasset, Frances' grandfather, written in 1598 he left her 20 pounds when she reached 21 and referring to her as Frances Blennerhasset, suggesting she was not then married. [1]

She married Thomas Trevor as his second wife 22 April 1617.[2]

Children

If the two sons were born after the marriage, around 1600, the the birth dates are too early. However, this conflicts with evidence from the Visitation of Kent, where Charles/Christopher had a son aged 19 in 1624, so born in 1605.[3] This conflict is also noted in Blennerhasset Family Tree which suggests William may have had a previous wife and these were her sons.

Death & Burial

Frances passed away on June 1, 1624, in Canterbury, Kent, England, and was buried at St. Bride's Church, London, England

Frances was buried 12 January 1624/5 St. Bride's Parish Church, London.[2][4]

Research Notes

Children birth years are too early for Frances birth year, which has been estimated as just after her parents marriage in 1577. Needs more primary sources for dates.

Dedham the Mann family suggests that Thomas Trevor married Joan, widow of George Mann, William's brother, but this conflicts with other sources.
