Pelatiah Bliss in confirmed to be the son of Lawrence Bliss and his wife Lidia. This birth record appear in the Record of Births for Hampden County, Province of Massachusetts Bay on page 23 being the last entry being. "Pelatiah ye son of Lawrence & Lidia Bliss was born August ye 19th 1674."

From Genealogy of the Bliss family in America from about the year 1550 to 1880: Pelatiah, of Springfield, Mass., (son of Lawrene Bliss and Lydia Wright, of S.,) was born Aug. 19, 1674 and m. April 21, 1698, to Elizabeth, daughter of Luke and Sarah Hitchcock, who was born in 1679, and died March 28, 1756. He resided on the site of the Chicopee Bank. His death occurred in 1747. Issue: Jonathan (Dr.); Pelatiah; Elizabeth (married Josiah Day); Thankful; William; Luke; Sarah; Caleb; Moses. ^[1]

Pelatiah Bliss of Springfield Dyed January 2 Annoque Domini: 1747." Annoque Domini is Latin for "Year of the Lord".
