Charles Edward Blomberg was born on 18 May 1893 in Gasconade, Missouri, United States, son of Edward G. Blomberg (1859–1955) and Caroline Froelker (1864–1896). Charles died on 9 Mar 1966 in Marion, Illinois, United States, aged 72.

Charles's mother passed when he was just 3 years old so he spent the next 4 years with his grandparents. Charles was a member of the Methodist Church. He was a Farmer, business man and Veteran of WWI. After returning from WWI, he was employed at a Decatur road machinery firm.

In 1922, they moved from Decatur to Kinmundy where they remained until their deaths.

Charles (28) married Nelle Mary Diss (22) (born on December 30, 1899 in Kinmundy, Marion, Illinois; daughter of Charles Jefferson Diss and Martha LeEtta (Hanna) Diss) on 15 Oct 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri. Charles and Nelle had 7 children, 2 who are still living.:

In 1917, he moved to Fowler, Colorado homesteading a ranch but prior to completing, he was drafted.

Charles enlisted in the United States Army on 25 Jun 1918 and was discharged on 1 Jul 1919 as a PFC. He was assigned to Co B, Illinois 116th Supply Train. He had tours of duty in Germany, France and Luxemburg

Charles was in the military and died on 9 Mar 1966. They were in the Co B 116th Supply Train.[1]

Charles, age 72 passed away at his home in Kinmundy after returning home from the hospital as a result of a severe stroke which occured while he was visiting in Amarillo, Texas and a heart attack. Surviving are his wife, 3 sons, 3 daughters, a stepsister and 10 grandchildren.[2]

Funeral services for Charles were held Sat, 12 mar 1966 at the Farina Methodist Church. Rev M. W. Friesner officiated. Internment is in Farina Cemetery, Farina, Fayette County, Illinois, United States.[3]
