David Blood was born 4 Sep 1726,[1] to Jonathan and Abigail (Maynard) Blood. His birth was recorded in Concord, but as his father resided on his grandfather's former estate called Hough's Farm in what is now Carlisle, Massachusetts, that's almost without doubt where he was born. In fact, the main house at the present-day "Gardens at the Clock Barn" in Carlisle was built by David's father Jonathan on his grandfather Robert's former homestead. The early Bloods of this line didn't live inside the town limits of Concord, but as they attended the Congregationalist church there, their life events were recorded in the Concord town book.
David married Elizabeth Proctor, daughter of Ezekiel and Elizabeth (Chamberlain) Proctor, on 26 Sep 1771 at Concord.[2]
David and Elizabeth produced the following children:
Abigail, born 12 Jun 1772, baptised 14 Jun 1772, died 11 Nov 1777
Elizabeth, born 1 Oct 1773, baptised 3 Oct 1773, died 17 Nov 1773
Elizabeth, born 23 Apr 1775, baptised 29 Apr 1775, died 20 Apr 1865
Abigail, baptised 19 Apr 1778, died after 1855
Rebecca, DOB unknown but possibly in 1779, died after 1806
David, born 20 Jul 1782, baptised 29 Sep 1782 (twin), died after 1806
Jonathan, born 20 Jul 1782, died 28 Jul 1782
Jonathan, born 28 Sep 1784, baptised 9 Oct 1785
David died in Carlisle, Middlesex County, on 23 Nov 1804, the Carlisle town book noting his age as 78 years.[3]
David died intestate, and administration of his estate was granted to his son David on 2 Mar 1805.[4]
