Magdelan's place and family of origin is unknown. She is among the earliest Bloods in Nottingham City, and the first recorded there in the 16th century. Her year of birth of 1568 is estimated based on the fact that in late 16th century England, women married on average at about 25 years of age.
On 25 Jul 1593, Magdalen married Robert Wright at St Nicholas' Church in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.[1][2]
Research Notes
Origin: It is uncertain which later Nottingham Blood family, if any, Magdalen was related to. As Bloods were known to circulate into Nottingham from the surrounding villages in order to marry and/or work, she may have originated from elsewhere in the county or beyond. Her estimated year of birth is within four years of the estimated year of birth of Thomas Blood who married in Nottingham in 1599. It is possible, then, that they were siblings from some undetected mid-16th century Nottingham Blood family.
