Biography

7 Jul 1889 James Le Roy Blood was born in Grant County, South Dakota, United States.^{[1] [2]} His parents were Hial Trusdale Blood and Eliza Emma Rouse Blood. ^{[1] [2]}

7 June 1900 James was 11. His parents HT 51 and Elisa 41 had been married 24 years. 9 of their 10 children were alive and still living on the home farm in Grant Center Township, Grant, South Dakota, United States. HT was born in Illinois, Elisa and their eldest son Evert 22 were born in Minnesota. Robert 19, Polly 16, Nellie 13, James 11, Mary 8, Etta 5, William 3, and Permilla 2 months were all born in South Dakota. HT was a farmer, Evert was a carpenter, Robert was a farm laborer. ^[3]

28 April 1910 James 20 was now the oldest child still on the home farm with his parents in Burnhamville, Todd, Minnesota, United States. Mary 17, Etta 15, William 12, and Mabel (Permila from 1900) were still in school. Hial was a laborer doing odd jobs, Eliza was a merchant at the general store, James was the farmer now. ^[4]

1913 James Le Roy Blood married Minnie Georgiana Roneson. They had 2 children Eleanor M Blood born 17 June 1914 and Arlie James Blood born 30 December 1915. ^[2] Arlie’s obituary says he was born in a log cabin and his mother died in Sept 1917 before his second birthday.^[5]

16 August 1928 James Le Roy BLOOD and Arlene Olive SMESTAD were married in Morrison County, Minnesota. The couple later divorced. ^[2]

His last residence was in Clinton, Big Stone County, Minnesota. ^[2]

16 Jan 1975 James Le Roy Blood passed away in Fort Atkinson, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, United States while visiting a daughter.^[2] James Le Roy Blood was buried in Bear Head Cemetery in Todd County, Minnesota, United States.^[2]
