Obituary from:  ; THE MINDEN COURIER VOLUME 31 February 17, 1921

Edward Boicourt was born O ctober 30, 1837, in Cass County, Illinois, and died February 7, 1921, at 8 a.m. in the Soldiers Home at Grand Island, Nebr. , the immediate cause of his death being a stroke of paralysis. H e was ill only two days.

Mrs. Boicourt, the forme r Nancy Jane Lindsay, preceded him in death four years ago. Surviving relatives are Andrew Nathanial Boicourt, James Harley Boic ourt and Harvey Alexander Boicourt, the three sons living west of the city; Mr s Fayette F. Rogers (Anna Josephine), of Minden, daughter; Mrs Silas J. Cov er (Stella Ludell), northwest of Kearney, and another daughter , Mrs Oscar T. Brown (Emma Mae), living in Orleans, Nebr.

Mr Boicourt was a vetera n of the Civil War, a member of Co. K, 33rd regiment of Illinois infantry. He enlisted in 1861, served three years, a nd re-enlisted until the close of the war.

In 1891 he came to Nebrask a, lived in Kearney County and Minden since that time. Before coming here, Mr. Boicourt was a member of the Me thodist church, but he attended all churches here.

The funeral services wer e held in Minden Wednesday, February 9, 1921. Special services at the Nichol undertaking parlors in the morning by th e G.A.R. and Ladies of the Circle. Private services were held at the F .F. Rogers home a 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. I.C. Rankin.

Special music was furnishe d by Mrs Clearman, Miss Stuart, Mrs Bracken and Messrs. Davidson and Richmond. The pall bearers were the thre e sons and three sons-in-law of the deceased. All children were presen t at the funeral, together with several grand children and two great grandchildren. &# 160; Internment was at Minden cemetery.

Edward was born in 1837. He was the son of Thomas Boicourt and Mary Hamilton. He passed away in 1921. [1]
