He married Marie Louise Pion dite Fontaine 5 Oct 1818 in Verchères, Quebec, Canada[2].
They had 14 children in 23 years. He died on January 22, 1855, in Ste-Hélène-de-Bagot, Quebec, Canada, at the age of 59, and was buried there[3].
