Daniel died on 27 Oct. 1887 at Catawba County, North Carolina and was buried at Saint Stephens Lutheran ELCA Cemetery, Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. His memorial has a transcription of his probate records, a photo of his headstone and links to those of family members.[1]
