Biography

Ann was born in 1751 the daughter of Joseph Bond and Martha Rogers. It is believed that she married someone named Cohorn or Cochran but no further records have been found to date.[1]

Research Notes

The Bond Genealogy of Samuel Bond Garrett of 1913 lists Ann among the children of Joseph and Martha with a notation she married a Cohorn or Cochran. The 1885 copy of the Bond Family history manuscript in the possession of T Stanton and attached to this profile as PDF lists her husband as surname Cohorn. Whether Garrett had access to the Bond Family History while compiling his work is uncertain but he did not have the copy attached to this profile for it contains information not found in his book.

Throughout the world of internet genealogy, a Mary Ann Bond is seen as daughter of Joseph who married a John Wisely. There is no documentation that this Mary Ann (the name Ann does not appear on the grave marker said to be hers) was a Bond. It has also been noted that the marker for Mary is near that of John but there is nothing which shows that this is his wife (nor is a maiden name present on the marker).
