Biography
Lourana Bonine was born on 18 May 1838 on her parents' farm in Illinois, USA. She was the daughter of Isaac Bonine and Malinda Elliot.
On 18 September 1864, in Cass County, Illinois, Lourana Bonine married William S. Wagner, 8 Feb 1840 in Cass, Illinois, – 18 September 1868 in Meredosia, Morgan, Illinois, USA.[1]
They had one child: Malinda Eliza Wagner, b: 24 May 1865 in Morgan County, Illinois. Unfortunately, William S. Wagner, who had been wounded during the US Civil War, where he was a Private in Company "A," 114th Illinois Infantry, passed away at only 28 years old on 18 September 1868. No Find A Grave Memorial has been found for him.[2]
On the 1880 US Census, widow Lourana (Bonine) Wagner was recorded as 41 years old, living with her daughter, Malinda E. Wagner, 15 years old, in Calvin Township, Jewell County, Kansas. Lourana's older unmarried sister, 45-year-old Lydia R. Bonine, a textile weaver, had joined them there. [3]
On the 15 April 1910 US Census, Lourana Wagner was recorded as a 71-year-old widow, now living with her 45-year-old married daughter, Malinda (Wagner) Clark and her husband and family. They had all moved from Jewell County, Kansas, to Island Twp., Union Co. Oregon, United States. [4]
Lourana (Bonine) Wagner, who never remarried, passed away at 85 years old on 25 July 1923 at her daughter Malinda Clark's home in Island Township, Union County, Oregon, USA. Lourana was buried at Island City Cemetery, Island City, Union County, Oregon, USA.[5]
