Biography

Edna was born about 1910. She is the daughter of Oscar Bonwick and Margaret Foley.

Printed in the Warwick Daily News 10 December 1937 Pre-Wedding [Party In honour of Miss Edina Bonwick, whose marriage to Mr. Ashley Booth (Junabee) will take place this month, Mr. and Mrs. A. G. White entertained a number of guests at a cream and green gift evening at their home, 'Edinlea" The lounges, reception rooms and verandahs were gay with flowers and balloons. Bowls of hydrangea looked gay against the vivid balloons. The hostess received her guests in a cream and green sheer frock with frilly neckline and bouffant skirt. The guest of honour chose lavender lace in old world style—the neckline outlined with violets. On arrival little Jean White presented the guest of honour with a shoulder spray of purple pansies and fern. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. Bonwick, Mr. and Mrs. A. Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Dowie, Mr. and Mrs. L. Todd, Mr.and Mrs. A. Whalley, Mr. ar.d Mrs. G. Wisseman, Meadames Bonwick, Booth, Martindale, Misses Martindale (2), D.Holmes,.K. McKenna, A. Mitchell, E. Crowe, E. Nancarrow, E. Stacey, B. Whalley, McCahon (2), White (2), E, Booth, M. Hlggins, I. Hughes, D. Matzkow, Wode (2), Dlpplesman (2), O. Coulter, T. Wilson, M. Roach, M. Allen, J. Boyce, I. Nyman, L. Braithwalte, P. Smith; Messrs. A. Booth, P. Higgins, W. Homan, P. Dunne, A. McFarlane, S. Smith, T. Mitchell, L. Armstrong, S. Tomklns, V. Bonwlck, A. Dempster, J. Southwell, R. Booth, R. Reid, R. White, H. Jackson, L. Wells. Gilts were also received1 from Mrs. Bloomfleld (Kingaroy), Mr. and "Mrs. F. Fox, Mr. and Mrs. Daly, and Messrs. L. Lomas and G. Balmer. An amusing feature of the party was a mock wedding performed by Dorothy White, Mr. H. Jackson, and- Jean White, the bridal party being piped to the "church" by: piper Dick Reid. The musical- programme consisted of songs by Miss O. Coulter, duets by the Misses Martindale, songs by Miss I. Nyman, recitation by Miss D. White, humorous songs and a selection on the cornet by Mr. H. Jackson, recitation by Mr. L. Wells, and songs by Mr. J; Southwell. The accompanists were Mrs. L. Todd and Miss O.. Coulter. The programme was interspersed with dancing, music for which was supplied by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Dowie and Mr. H. Jackson. Games, accompanied to the bagpipes -by piper Dick Reid, were enjoyed on the lawns, and an amusing competition was won by Mr. A. Dempster, who handed the prize (a dainty cream and green sweet dish) to the guest of honour. After.supper Mr. A. G. White, on behalf of those present asked Miss Bonwick to accept the lovely gifts brought by her friends and wished her and her fiance every, happiness for the future. Mr. Ashley Booth responded on behalf of Miss Bonwick. Before the guests departed Mr. H. Jackson moved a hearty vote of thanks to the host and hostess for a most enjoyable evening
