Raiford Boon was born on November 8, 1763 in Franklin County, North Carolina. He was the son of James Boon and Sarah Raiford. He married Mary Polly Simmons on September 13, 1787. They had 17 children together.[1]

According to census records, Raiford and his family were living in Franklin County, North Carolina in 1790 and 1800 and were in Chatham County, North Carolina by 1810[3][4][5]
Raiford died on December 19, 1834 in Chatham County, North Carolina.[1] This date of death appears in a record of US Pensioners for the state of North Carolina[6]
